Stribog SP9A3 SBR - An Excellent Competition PCC

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

After several months of work, my latest project has finally gone to its first match!

I took a Grand Power Stribog SP9A3 & modified it into a fantastic SBR for USPSA competitions. This smöl gun & it's featherlight optic (the Atibal CRD) are exactly what I wanted when I decided to get into the PCC world. And for our first match, it was AWESOME.

The January 8th match at Albany Rifle & Pistol Club (Shedd, OR) was my entry point into the PCC division. After shooting L10 & Single Stack with my 1911 for a full year, this was a wild change of pace. What would have normally been three or even four magazine changes was replaced by a single 30-round magazine. Getting to look thru a red dot & using a C-clamp to stabilize the gently-recoiling SP9A3 accelerated the stages to a pace I hadn't known before. What a blast.

One of my favorite things to do with a firearm is to invest the time to understand how it works. Just as each of us has our own quirks, positive & negative traits, moral compass, etc., every firearm was designed & built around a philosophy that we get to experience as the shooter. The most rewarding range moments happen when we know the gun, we know ourselves, & we push our limits in training.

After getting to know my SP9A3, I'm happy to share all the details. External components, internal components, & best practices to keep a Stribog running 100%.

Make sure to spend time with your firearms! Disassemble them down to each piece, run it as hard as you can, & you will grow as a shooter.
