*All lessons require a non-refundable $20 deposit to reserve your session. This deposit is credited towards your total.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY SESSION?
We accept Cash App, US dollars, USPS money order, or personal check. The $20 deposit may be paid by any of these methods & is due at time of scheduling.
Full payment is due at the start of the session. Failure to pay at the beginning of the session will result in a cancellation & the deposit will not be refunded, nor can it be credited towards future lessons.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE TO MY LESSON?
Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled lesson time. Before we begin, it will be necessary to have all parties sign into the range & get equipment ready at our shooting line.

The session begins precisely at your scheduled time. If you arrive at the set time or later, you will miss some of your lesson & it will not be made up afterwards.

If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, we reserve the right to cancel your lesson & retain the $20 deposit.
DO I NEED MY OWN FIREARM & AMMUNITION?
It depends on your goals! For each 2hr session you will need a pistol &/or rifle in good working condition & 250 rounds of ammunition. All firearms in our Armory are available for rental at $20/session and the user assumes liability for any damages. It's best to have your oqn equipment to develop your own muscle memory and techniques for the tools you have at your disposal.
If you are looking to make your first purchase we are happy to offer some consultation on this subject at no charge.
DO I NEED TO HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE TO TAKE A LESSON?
No experience is required to take lessons with us. In fact, it is better for a new shooter to start taking lessons before receiving incorrect information or developing bad habits! The most important things you can bring to the lesson are a positive attitude & a willingness to learn.
WHERE DO LESSONS TAKE PLACE?
All individual & group lessons take place at a private firearms club located 40 minutes south of Salem. This is a safe, gated facility without any interference from other shooters or general public. The exercise area will be tailored to our lesson goals with smaller ranges for fundamentals & larger ranges for moving & shooting drills.

An address will be provided via email or text once we receive the $20 deposit for the scheduled lesson.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS FOR A LESSON AT THE RANGE?
Eye protection, hearing protection, short sleeve T-shirt, full-length pants, & closed toe shoes are required. Beyond that, comfort is more important than looks -- you will get dirty.

Other recommended clothing:

Jeans without large tears
Scarf & water resistant jacket for winter
Baseball cap (or hat with front brim)
Hiking boots or trail running shoes
Cushioned socks

*Cold weather gloves cannot be worn while handling firearms in our classes
CAN I RESCHEDULE MY LESSON? WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Yes, we can reschedule your lesson at no cost if we are given at least 24 hours notice. The $20 deposit will be credited towards the new lesson. Please email or text/call to reschedule should you have to change your plans!

If you need to reschedule within 24 hours of your session, the $20 deposit will not be refunded & cannot be credited towards a new appointment. Any new appointments will require a new $20 deposit to book a lesson.
WHAT KIND OF PISTOL SHOULD I GET? WHAT IS THE BEST ONE?
The most important factor to consider is the intended purpose for the pistol. Is it for self-defense? Competition? Hunting? Just for fun? Each firearm is designed around specific purpose & it may take time to find the one you like.

Once you know your intended purpose, some important factors to consider are:

What is your budget?
Does it fit your hand comfortably?
Is ammunition easily available?
Are there known quality issues?
Does it inspire you to train & shoot?
Do you like how it looks?

Spend some time in your local gun stores to find what's right for you!
WHY SHOULD I TAKEÂ LESSONS FROM A PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR?
There are some contexts in life where guessing is okay -- firearms is NOT one of them. First & foremost, your life & those of the people you love all depend on your ability to safely store & operate a firearm. Second, becoming proficient with a pistol requires knowledge & skills that are best developed under the supervision of an experienced mentor. It is a firearm owner's responsibility to know how to use their tools & no YouTube video can give you the feedback necessary for success.

Being a responsible gun owner requires a clear understanding of safety, regular skills development, & unwavering discipline at all times. This is why we are called Fire Discipline.
